Captain Dale Marvell grabbed the winner as Epsom & Ewell kicked off Easter weekend with a 1-0 victory over Bedfont Green.
The vital goal came after 21 minutes when Daniel Ike's cross was only cleared as far as the Epsom midfielder, who beat Bedfont keeper Liam Stone on his near post from eight minutes.
Epsom had already gone close in the 10th minute.
Stone got his glove to Niall Connery's shot, but the ball started to loop towards goal only for Paul Wilsher to make an acrobatic clearance.
The hosts nearly made it two in the 32nd minute when Connery flung full length to head Freddie Myers' cross towards goal, but it clipped the outside of the post.
The tempo dropped in the second half and Bedfont Green came into the game with Dave Tidy having to make a diving save to keep out Paul Cross.
Connery went close to a second goal he flicked theball over Stone from a tight angle, but the ball landed on the roof of the net.
Bedfont Green came desperately close to a stoppage time equaliser when Julian Sills laid the ball back for Wilsher to try his luck from long-range but the ball came back off the face of the post.
Epsom: Tidy, Ellis, Hayward, Dicks, Rodriguez, Murphy, Ike (O'Sullivan 84), Marvell, Hatton (King 72), Connery (Styles 89), Myers.
