Boxing star Kieran Leinster is preparing for the biggest fight of his boxing career tomorrow night (November 22), after securing a shot at the Queensbury Boxing League’s British title.

Teddington’s Leinster will meet Gareth Gardner - the undisputed ruler of the middleweight division - in a winner-takes-all clash for the champion's coveted British title in the main event of the promotion's season finale.

And after carving his way to seven straight QBL victories, the 22-year-old is confident he has what it takes to rip the title away from the champion and put an end to Gardner’s undefeated record.

Since first lacing up the gloves in the British Eurosport televised competition in March 2013, Leinster has become one of the show's most exciting stars, claiming both the regional and national middleweight titles during his impressive run.

However, the man dubbed “Lights Out” due his devastating punching power has always had his sights set on being the division's top dog, and tomorrow he will finally get his opportunity.

Queensbury Boxing League: Confident Gardner writes his Christmas list

He said: “Fighting Gardner for the British title is going to be the culmination of many years hard work, and I’m so excited to be fighting him for the British belt.

“I can only see this fight going one way and that will be fireworks from the get go, and it's all going to come down to a battle of hearts and who wants this the most.

“I’ve seen Gareth in action many times and also shared a ring with him in sparring so I know he’s strong, has an incredible work rate and throws lethal body shots.

"But I also know he’s a natural light middleweight and has been rocked several times in recent fights, so will he be able to take my power in the fight is the question I want to find the answer to."

He added: “I know this is, without doubt, going to be the toughest fight I have ever had as Gardner brings a wealth of experience to the fight, but I’m going to be on my A game and ready for anything."

Leinster versus Gardner takes place at the Millennium Effingham Park Hotel in West Sussex.
