Tony Pulis and Crystal Palace have parted company by mutual consent just two days before the start of the new Premier League season.

The 56-year-old held crisis talks with co-chairman this afternoon (Thursday) amid rumours of frustration over a lack of funds for transfers.

It was then announced just after 9pm this evening that Pulis had become the first Premier League manager of the season looking for a new job.

Assistant manager Keith Millen will take charge of the side for the opening clash at Arsenal.

It is also believed that David Kemp and Gerry Francis will stay on for the trip to the Emirates before leaving.

Palace have recruited three players this summer – Fraizer Campbell and Brede Hangeland, and most recently Martin Kelly – but Pulis is believed to have missed out on other names due to a lack of funds.
