Malden Wanderers all rounder Will Sabey was his side’s key contributor for a third successive week as his haul of 6-37 set up a Surrey Championship Division One victory over Cheam on Saturday.

The 28-year-old, who has taken 20 wickets and scored 128 runs in five games this term, helped dismiss the visitors to Cambridge Avenue for 111, which skipper Giles Puckle’s men chased for the lost of just three wickets.

Alan Cope (37) top scored and he teamed up with Sabey (16) for an unbroken 41-run partnership to get their side over the line.

Jack Winslade claimed figures of 4-25 as Weybridge beat Surrey Championship Premier Division new boys Leatherhead by 71-runs.

Captain Joel Pope (44) and Thushara Managei (40) helped their side stumble to 182 all out as Adam Dyson 5-50 dominated proceedings at Hanger Hill.

But Winslade and Sarel Erwee (3-27) proved equally as tricky to face as the hosts eased to victory.

Dan Taylor’s 5-38 was not enough as Esher lost to second placed Beddington at New Road in Surrey Championship Division One.

Esher were dismissed for 121 and Beddington needed just 38.4 overs to reach their winning target despite Taylor’s best efforts.

In the same division, four wickets apiece for East Molesey pair Ross Paxton (4-47) and Gayan Sirisoma (4-91) dismissed hosts Cranleigh for 205.

But captain Sam Burge’s side struggled in reply and subsided to 132 all out with only Andrew Westphal (38) providing the strongest resistance.
