After a week off, Rosslyn Park are set to embark on the most intense three weeks of their season.

The runners-up spot in National League One is Park’s for the taking, but with only one promotion place, they need to close the eight points they lag behind the top club, Doncaster Knights.

This weekend, Park make the short journey to tackle fifth placed Esher.

The previous time Park enjoyed a "holiday" they were not firing on all cylinders when returning to face Loughborough.

They will know that nothing but their best will be good enough against a strong Esher side.

Although no longer in a position to win the title and return to the Championship, Esher will be keen to establish bragging rights in a hot-blooded local derby.

In such matches the form book goes out of the window.

Head coach Alex Codling said: “After a weekend off, we enter the five final games of the season starting with a derby at Esher.

"Despite some recent losses they are a team full of quality players and we are under no illusions as to the challenge that awaits.

“This game starts a run against the three teams around us in the table in a row and is a test that I know the boys are relishing."

He added: “Last time out we gained a good win against one of the form teams in Tynedale, but the boys understood that we turned the ball over too often which broke our rhythm. This will be a big focus in training this week.”

Following the Esher game, Park have two successive home matches - firstly against league leaders Doncaster and then against the third club, Coventry.
