Danny Anderson says he is as ready as he can be when he takes his Queensbury Boxing League bow this weekend.

Anderson, from New Addington, will step through the ropes at the Alexandra Palace in London on Saturday to face fellow debutant John Moloney in a light heavyweight contest.

The 28-year-old is no stranger to the combat arena after enjoying a successful stint competing in Thai boxing in his teenaged years, but now Anderson has set his sights on emulating the achievements of fellow league star Gareth Gardner, who has become the most successful boxer in the show's history.

Anderson said: “This is undoubtedly the biggest fight of my life boxing in London at the Alexandra Palace, and I’m training like never before for this opportunity.

“I’ve seen the success of Gareth Gardner who I went to school with, and since coming back into the sport a few years ago I feel I’m ready for this step up and I can’t wait to get in there now.

"I’ve seen a little bit of footage of Moloney on YouTube and I’m sure this is going to be a hard fight, but I’m ready to adapt to whatever he brings on the night and if that means me meeting fire with fire to get the job done then I will be ready."

He added: “This is a second chance for me to really do something within boxing and it doesn’t get much bigger than boxing at the Alexandra Palace, so my focus is on doing all that I can in training and then putting it together on fight night."

Anderson versus Moloney will feature on the packed 14-fight bill taking place at the Alexandra Palace in London.
