Crystal Palace may be on a decent run of form, but manager Tony Pulis believes there is still room for improvement, especially away from home.

Palace have won five of their seven home games under Pulis, but have struggled away from home, winning just one in six.

Pulis’ side travel to Everton tonight and the 56-year-old, who has never been relegated as a Premier League manager, is urging his players to continue their remarkable revival.

He said: “We need to start getting points away from home if we are going to stay up – we’ve got tough, tough fixtures away but we will need to get points there, not just at home.

“The run we have been on has been fantastic but it has only taken us three points above the relegation zone so we have to maintain it.

“Everyone at this club knows it is going to be a fight all the way to end and that’s what we will do – we will fight and scrap for it.”

He added: “It’s going to go down to the wire, but if we get to 40 points we’ve got a massive chance of staying up.”

Beating the Toffees at Goodison Park, however, will be no mean feat.

Roberto Martinez’s side have lost just once at home this season and are looking to get back to winning ways after defeat at Tottenham on Saturday.

Pulis said: “They have everything in their favour and we are massive underdogs, but we’ll give it our best.

“They were a very good side last year and the additions have made them even stronger so we know it will be a really tough game.”

Pulis is far from surprised to see Martinez doing so well at Everton, though, and believes current Manchester United boss David Moyes is to thank after leaving the club in an impeccable position.

He said: “Roberto picked up a club that, for the past 10 years, has been run in a very professional manner.

“David [Moyes] did a fantastic job not just on the club, but also how the club was run.”

Pulis has a full strength squad to choose from, while Martinez said he will give a debut to on-loan striker Lacina Traore, although he may not start.
