With the domestic bangers back in action, Mitcham’s Keith Conlon will be leading his "Bandit" team into battle as their feud with "The Boyz" team continues.

Things became very heated a fortnight ago when a four-man Bandit team, took on three Boyz members - to spice up matters further, they were joined in the carnage by a visiting team from Essex.

The normal racing became a side show, with the 11 cars setting about each other. Through the chaos, Conlon still managed to beat a top field to win the first race of the evening.

The biggest crash of the night was given out by Boyz team leader Steven Penfold in the second race, as he obliterated the rear of John Matthews' estate converting it into a mini.

Getting embroiled in such a feud at this stage of the season may damage Conlon’s chances of taking the league title.

Leader: Jason "Super" Cooper leads the way in the Superstox class

Whether he decides to race or wreck on Sunday, we’ll just have to wait and see.

At the same meeting the rookie rods tried to outdo the bangers, even though their formula is non-contact.

With more than 30 cars on the grid, some degree of bumping was to be expected, but poor Jack White from Bedfordshire, found himself airborne.

Hopefully their races will be just as exciting with maybe a little less of the acrobatics though.

The classic hot rods will be making a rare appearance this week at Plough Lane.

This formula consists of the Hot Rods from the 70s and 80s made famous by George Polley and the flamboyant Barry Lee.

Ford Escorts are generally the car of choice these days for the drivers, but look out too for the odd Ford Anglia on the grid.

Finally, the last formula racing on Sunday is the Superstox.

When they last raced we posed the question “who will stop ‘Super’ Jason Cooper?” On the night it turned out to actually be a safety tyre that stopped him.

Having won the first race in typical style, he was about to notch up his second win of the meeting when he inadvertently bumped into a safety tyre, and in doing so knocking out of kilter the set-up of the car.

After a bit of time in the workshop, no doubt Cooper will return to winning ways as the Superstox begin their year-long series that takes them right across the country.

Tonight's first race starts at 5.30pm.
