Rosslyn Park’s six-try win at Wharfedale last Saturday sees them consolidating their position in second place in National League One, three points behind the leaders Doncaster Knights.

Park are seven points ahead of third placed Fylde.

The away win in North Yorkshire, where Doncaster, Esher and Leeds had already been defeated, was probably Park’s best performance of the season so far.

Head coach Alex Codling said, "The overriding emotion after the victory at Wharfedale was one of pride.

"It was a truly outstanding team performance in extremely tough conditions against a side that is having a great season.

“The control and balance of our game was excellent and the work ethic both with and without the ball was the key to the success. Despite the conditions there was a real intent to play when it was ‘on’, resulting in some super tries”.

This coming Saturday sees a vital London derby when Blackheath visit Priory Lane, kicking off at 2:30.

Blackheath will have had their confidence boosted by a 38-10 win over Esher last Saturday as they battle to dismiss relegation fears, and Codling knows that ‘Club’ represent a potent threat.

He said: “We now have a local derby at home next week against Blackheath who will be full of confidence after an excellent win against Esher, so we know that we will have to reach the same levels as on Saturday if we are to give ourselves the chance of the result we want.

"It should be a cracking game and a great day for the supporters with the France v England match live in the clubhouse afterwards."

It will be a concern that lock Simon Inglis limped off injured last Saturday, but Park will be boosted by the return of England Sevens star, Sam Edgerley, who came off the bench last Saturday to play his first match of the season.
