There is little seasonal goodwill in the life of Walton & Hersham boss James Cameron right now, more a double dose of frustration.

The Swans last outing in Ryman Division One South was a 4-0 hammering at home to Sittingbourne on December 28, leaving them languishing in 15th place.

And rather than being able to right the wrongs straightaway, Cameron and his side are still waiting for the rain to stop.

When they do finally get out, hopefully against Horsham at Stompond Lane this weekend, fans will notice a few new faces.

“Since I took over, I’ve had to deal with players coming and going, and I’ve had to deal with players who I did not want here – that was frustrating and it showed in our results,” he said.

“I have brought in some new names, especially in defence, so I have that nucleus now.”

He added: “We’ve brought in Alan Bray from Hampton & Richmond on loan for six weeks, and got Dan Dean back from Chipstead.

“Those two, with the likes of Jon Boswell and Andy Lomas at the back, will give us a solid base.

“There’s no denying the next week or so is vital to our season, but I believe we have a team that is capable of climbing up the table.”

Cameron has also recruited striker Greg Andrews from Merstham and midfielder Mu Maan from Walton Casuals – while defender Greg Ngeno is set to be released.

Cameron said: “I’ve rebuilt this side to how I want it, and now I’m desperate for the lads to get out there and show what they can do.

“Morale in training is high, we just need to take that into the games.”
