"The loss of our brother Carl, has left my family, his friends and anyone privileged enough to know him, shattered and devastated.
The irreparable damage and the void we now feel in our lives for our only brother and an only son is indescribable. How can it be that parents or older siblings should select a coffin for the baby of the family!!
Carl was extremely talented, charming and always smiling. Carl was so funny he could make you cry with laughter; he was so unique that he was and always will be unforgettable.
Despite knowing he was popular amongst his peers Carl was always humble and down to earth so much so that we his family never expected over 8000 tributes to be posted on Facebook.
Carl was generous, kind and sensitive he loved his family, his friends and his music and we loved him. My dad nicknamed him Mr President because he gave off a flare that demanded attention and my mum called him sonny bunch because as old as he got there was nothing that he wouldn't do to make her happy.
Carl would always refer to himself, my older sister and I as the "power of three" because we were very close and united, he liked spending time with us and loved spending time with family and friends.
Even at 19 years he would still hold our hands at times and lie on our shoulders. He loved to love and he loved to be loved. Carl was very playful but also mature beyond his years and despite being the youngest he could still offer sound advice.
Although he was so gifted and conscientious he was still a teenager and was growing and maturing every day; To give you a true picture of Carl's personality and what he meant to us would be like trying to trap the sun in a bottle, he was like no other.
Carl told me the week before he was taken from us that he was going to be famous before the end of the summer, in his own words he said he was "allergic to being broke, addicted to achievement and success was his catalyst".
He wanted to make headlines for his achievements and to prove that with hard work and determination anyone from any background could achieve greatness but his premature, senseless and brutal murder has destroyed these aspirations and left permanent scars in the lives of so many people.
Carl is an irreplaceable jewel, a lovable son and an amazing brother."
