This Easter, 12 ‘kaitoes’ landed in the UK cinemas to rescue planet Earth, they have a huge mission to protect the environment and animals from extinction!

We 12 is a Cantonese movie, starring the Hong Kong boy band MIRROR. They are from a club called the ‘League of kaito’, with the 12 of them being the most famous and trustworthy among the club. They are kaito Lokman(by Lokman Yeung), kaito AK(by Anson Kong), kaito A.Lo(by Anson Lo), kaito Edan(by Edan Lui), kaito KT(by Keung To), kaito Jeremy(by Jeremy Lee), kaito Jer(by Jer Lau), kaito Stanley(by Stanley Yau), kaito Ian(by Ian Chan), kaito Tiger(by Tiger Yau), kaito Frankie(by Frankie Chan), kaito Alton(by Alton Wong). In the movie, they are on a mission to steal a bug zapper, a winning invention for the ‘Noble’ prize, along with many other inventions by immoral scientists creating weird creatures and gadgets that could potentially cause cancer and the breakdown of the food chain. What they have to do is sneak into the exhibition hall and steal the bug zapper, but there are many obstacles to overcome, especially the security guard Johnny(by Yeung Wai-Lun), who has always wanted to destroy their community.

To overcome all these challenges, each kaito has a special skill to help deal with their mission. Starting with kaito Lokman specialised in breaking locks, kaito AK specialised in communicating with animals, kaito A.Lo specialised in fighting, kaito Edan specialised in abseiling, kaito KT specialised in hypnosis, kaito Jeremy specialised in memorising things, kaito Jer specialised in cross-dressing, kaito Stanley specialised in tapping, kaito Ian specialised in planning, kaito Tiger specialised in lip-reading, kaito Frankie specialised in his sixth sense and kaito Alton specialised in hacking.

It is a comedy movie, with hilarious parts for audiences, however, the content is disorganized and makes audiences puzzled with each of the skills that they have as there are 12 of them, although they have a clear introduction at the beginning of the movie. Even though it is a comedy, my favorite part of the movie is when kaito A.Lo wants to protect the other kaitoes from getting caught, he locks the door with a stick and forces kaito KT to carry kaito Lokman to leave as soon as possible, who is already unconscious. He sacrifices himself and is caught by Johnny, hurt, and locked on a chair with a bomb at the back. Kaito KT was very guilty because he and A.Lo were very close friends and there was a flashback saying that A.Lo would always protect him, which is a touching and unforgettable scene. This also makes them understand the importance of teamwork, linking back to the theme of the movie.

It is not the best in terms of the content, but the comedy and the supernatural features have made the movie interesting. I am looking forward to a new movie starring the 12 of them again.
