HANDS up who remembers nu-metal. Ah, all three of you. Did you really think wearing your baseball cap the wrong way round and having your eyebrow pierced was cool?

Well, even though I hate to admit it, I actually once did, and even own a couple of old Korn albums in the depths of my record collection.

Now I'm all grown up and mature I can see the error of my once angst-fuelled ways but the music still holds a certain charm for me.

Korn have been rocked in recent years by the departure of guitarist Brian Welch and drummer David Silveria but what has affected their albums most is a move towards a more experimental and "deeper" sound.

In some cases, it does pay off and songs Evolution and I Will Protect You work well but for me, Korn should be about heavy rock and this album, like all of Korn's albums since the classic that was Issues, just misses the mark.
