Olympic torch shines in London
THE Olympic torch for the 2008 games in Beijing is starting its journey across London from Wembley.
A ceremony is taking place today (Sunday) in the square outside Wembley Arena, in Engineers Way, to launch the London leg of the torch's journey.
It was lit in Athens last month and is making its way to the Chinese capital in time for this summer's games.
Eighty people, including newsreader Sir Trevor McDonald and former athlete Dame Kelly Holmes, will carry the torch across the city to the O2 arena in Greenwich.
Brent Council is hosting Sunday's event, with a range of entertainment celebrating the borough's diversity.
