A FAST food fan will never hit the hut again after she claims she found a maggot "wriggling in her pizza".

Chenaie Woolford says she was shocked to discover the creepy crawly as she prepared to tuck into a Pizza Hut takeaway with her boyfriend.

Now the 17-year-old says she will never eat pizza again and would rather "stick to fish and chips" instead.

Miss Woolford ordered the chicken farmhouse pizza from Pizza Hut, Eltham High Street, Eltham, on November 26.

The pizza arrived on time and she was looking forward to spending a cosy Saturday night in front of the television with her boyfriend CJ.

But as she opened the pizza box she was stunned to see a brown maggot on top of her evening meal.

Miss Woolford, of Green Lane, New Eltham, said: "It was disgusting. It looked like a caterpillar and was wriggling around on top of the pizza.

"It has put me off having pizza for life. I wouldn't eat it again if you paid me.

"I think I will stick to fish and chips from now on."

Miss Woolford was given a full refund and £25 worth of Pizza Hut vouchers.

The trainee teacher has filed a complaint with the council's environmental health department.

She also says she does not want any further compensation from the company.

Pizza Hut says it pays out vouchers as a standard procedure.

A spokesman added: "Our foods go through a rigorous cleaning process which would make it impossible for something to get in the pizza.

"A recent inspection by environmental health gave the Eltham branch a very clean bill of health."
