OPERATION Christmas Child 2005 has been launched and the Westmorland Gazette is once again urging its readers to lend their support to the shoebox appeal.
Last year, generous readers packed thousands of shoeboxes with gifts for deprived children in eastern European countries and this year the need is greater than ever.
Operation Christmas Child leaflets will carefully explain all the necessary steps to making your very own giftbox.
