A dog started a fire which destroyed its kennel in Luddesdown, when it knocked over a floodlight.
Fortunately the dog escaped before the wooden outbuilding was burned down in Buckland Road, Luddesdown, at about midnight on Tuesday.
The house next to the kennel was also damaged in the fire which started when the dog knocked over a 500 watt floodlight.
Heat from the lamp caused the wood to catch fire.
Firefighters using two pumps took 20 minutes to put out the flames which completely destroyed the two metre square wooden kennel.
