A new website created by a London woman is offering people the chance to plan their perfect funeral.

Users of yourdeathwish.com create their own webpage listing their final requests, from the music they would like played at the service to the location where they would like their ashes to be scattered.

They can choose a design for the coffin, dress code for the mourners, stories for the eulogy and even the choice of sandwiches for the wake.

Users can also upload videos and songs, in a similar way to social networking sites such as MySpace and Facebook.

Creator Victoria Vanstone said she intended the site to be "upbeat and fun".

"It's not a morbid or sad memorial - it's a celebration of life," she explained.

"Everybody dies and wants to be remembered, and this is a way of logging your final wishes. It can make sure friends and family represent you at your funeral in the way you would have wanted."

Ms Vanstone, 30, was inspired to create the site after witnessing the devastation of the 2004 Asian tsunami. She ran a bar on the beach in Koh Jum, Thailand, which was destroyed in the disaster.

"I was away for Christmas and woke up to the news that the tsunami had hit. At first I didn't know if my boyfriend was alive. Thankfully he was OK but I returned to total devastation."

The site, free to use and with your page public or private, also features advice and information about funeral costs and the making of wills.
