Oh beer! Lager lorry leaves Croydon tram passengers fuming

Tram passengers were delayed by the beer problem in Croydon Tram passengers were delayed by the beer problem in Croydon

It is "probably the best beer in the world" but that is no consolation to commuters after a Carlsberg beer lorry caused major tram delays this morning.

The lorry was illegally parked in George Street, causing the Croydon Tramlink central loop to be suspended between 8.17am and 8.57am.

A spokesman for Transport for London said illegally parked vehicles was a large problem for the trams and reminded drivers not to obstruct the tram route.

According to the latest update, the service is running with severe delays.

What did the police and traffic wardens do about this idiot - why wasn't he told to move on and given a ticket?

In America the tow truck would be there within minutes.
If the driver was near the vehicle why did it take 40 minutes to get him to move it?
