Home-grown Sutton hero's SOS to film industry

After the roaring success of his private Sutton film screening, home-grown hero SOS is now gunning for the small screen.

The costumed crimefighters’ fly-on-the-wall documentary film, Superhero Me, followed SOS’s extraordinary exploits in 2009, a year which saw him rise to prominence as South London’s premier superhero.

The film, shown at the Empire cinema on Sunday, is a documentary about a quest for superhero status, but also highlighted SOS’s quest for peace and prosperity across the mighty borough of Sutton.

Now, the spandex-clad superhero has set his sights on getting his film broadcast on television.

Speaking from his secret lair in Epsom he said: “I was delighted with the turnout for the film. There were easily more than 60 people and the reaction was brilliant.

“But there is a film called Kick-Ass in the cinema at the moment which is also about becoming a superhero, so it seems like a good time to try and promote the film with TV stations.

“So my mission now is to head down to some of their headquarters in my costume and pester them until they yield and show my film.

“The movie is essentially about becoming a superhero. It’s a play on words with “Supersize Me”.

“I travelled far and wide, to places such a Naples, to research my film but its origins really go back to Batman.

“The caped crusader didn’t have any superpowers but had courage, money and willpower. The point is, anyone can become a superhero.”
