A distraught pensioner’s dog, dubbed ‘Houdini’ because of its knack of disappearing, has vanished again.
Gordon Marshom, of Windsor Avenue, let his dog Ellie out last Tuesday night (January 19) before bed but left his back door ajar and the four-year-old escaped.
Four-year-old Ellie disappeared previously just before Christmas and turned up at a dog pound in Sevenoaks several days later and Mr Marshom had to borrow £100 from his carer to get her back.
The 82-year-old said: “Ellie, or Houdini as I call her, is such a lovely dog. She’s my best friend in the world and I don’t know what I’d do without her.
“I let her out before bed and I must have forgotten to shut the door properly. These things happen when your my age, you convince yourself you’ve done something then the next day you realise you haven’t. It’s so sad. ”
