THE SERVICE area at Heston's Moto on the M4 has some of the greatest toilets on the motorway, according to the organisers of the 2003 Loo of the Year competition.
Judges, who paid a secret visit to the loos whilst pondering their decision, were so impressed with the standards of cleanliness and hygiene they found at the Heston super pans, that they gave the toilets a five-star award.
This is the second year in succession Heston services have triumphed in the competition.
Moto also carried off the Overall Standard of Excellence for the entire country at the awards ceremony in Birmingham on December 11.
Operations Director Brian Lotts said: "Our toilets are open around the clock, every day of the year and are used by nearly 3,500 people every single day, so keeping them clean and fresh is a mammoth task. They are a vital part of our customer care package and our cleaning staff at Heston do a magnificent job to keep them in such pristine condition. The five- star award and the Overall Standard of Excellence is testimony to the hard work they put in and means we have the cleanest toilets on the UK motorway network."
Competition judges visited more than 1,000 public toilets all over Britain, scrutinising cleanliness, overall management, signage, accessibility, dcor and the standard of fixtures and fittings.
