Shock of big cat in backyard (From This Is Local London)

The beast of Bexley has been spotted again, this time by a 16-year-old who had opened his back door to let in his agitated cat.

Daniel Brown was disturbed by his cat Lucy's behaviour and, as he let her in, got the shock of his life.

There at the end of the garden was a giant black cat.

"I shouted at it and it looked at me before jumping over the next door neighbour's fence," he said.

The waist-high animal crept into his garden last Monday at about 3pm.

"I knew they existed," Daniel said, "but I didn't think there would be one in my back garden."

He quickly locked up the house, in Preston Drive, Welling, and called his parents and the police.

Daniel said: "I don't think my parents believed me at first but my dad said I should have called News Shopper and I said I already had."
