Billy abandoned by ‘irresponsible’ people

A full-size billy goat was found tied to a garage door and apparently abandoned in Brockley.

RSPCA inspectors were forced to find a trailer to remove the goat from Wickham Mews, as it was too big to fit in their van.

Now the society is appealing for information about the "irresponsible" owner.

Inspector Nigel Peake said: "This animal was in a reasonable condition but had been abandoned with no bedding, food or water.

"This was irresponsible. If someone can no longer care for an animal they should call an animal welfare organisation, such as the RSPCA, which will can try to find it a new home."

The goat is now being cared for by the RSPCA.
