A pensioner was rescued by firefighters last night after she fell off her stairlift and became stuck.
A crew from Wimbledon fire station was called to house near Trinity Road, Wimbledon, at about 12.30am today, after the 74-year-old woman became wedged between the stairlift and the staircase.
A firefighter said they were called to assist by the London Ambulance Service, who later took her to hospital as a precaution.
He said: “The way she fell was quite awkward, so we moved the lift and carried her down the stairs.
“She wasn’t injured. In fact she was in good spirits.”
