London taxi drivers have caused disruption on the roads today protesting over minicab safety fears.
Organised by the United Cabbies Group, the demo snarled up Victoria Street outside Transport for London’s HQ and also caused hold-ups in neighbouring roads.
United Cabbies Group chairman Len Martin said: "We have continually complained of a lack of enforcement creating a real and present threat to lone females at night.”
TfL said it had already taken action to address the cabbies' concerns, having launched an operation to clamp down on illegal minicab activity.
