A WOMAN who was allegedly pushed off a hotel balcony by her boyfriend is out of a coma.
Sarah Maskell, 34, from High Wycombe, has reportedly told doctors that she wants to return to Britain as soon as possible after the incident, which saw her fall 21 feet onto a railing spike.
She was three months pregnant at the time, but doctors were unable to save her unborn baby.
Miss Maskell, a former Brenchwood and Bellfield School pupil, was on holiday with boyfriend, Michael Edwards, 40, also from High Wycombe, at the Stelios Stalis apartments in Malia, Crete.
He appeared before a public prosecutor last week charged with attempted murder.
A Greek surgeon has said that it was difficult to say when Miss Maskell could travel because of the pain she was in.
The couple are well known in Conegra Road, High Wycombe, and were often seen riding their bikes in the area.
Carole Bryant, 35, who lives in Conegra Court, said her daughter often played with Edwards' five-year-old son.
She said: "I would not say a bad word about them.
"I am hoping it is just an accident."
She added: "I heard rumours that they argued sometimes, but what couple don't?
"I would not have said Michael was capable of that."
