A MAN was bundled into a car and robbed at knife-point in an attack in south west London last night.

The 22-year-old was offered cigarettes by his kidnappers as he was walking along Roehampton Lane, in Wandsworth, before being forced into the car.

One of his captors pushed him into the back seat where another pulled out a knife and threatened him.

He was held in the foot well of the green saloon and driven around for more than an hour.

The robbers, who had claimed to be selling cheap cigarettes, searched the man's pockets and stole £40 in cash as well as keys and a mobile phone.

They eventually stopped the car on Kew Bridge, in Hounslow, at about 1.15am and marched their victim down an alleyway to Strand on the Green where they released him.

A police spokesman said the man was left shocked but otherwise uninjured.

The suspect, who had approached the victim in the Roehampton area asking if he had cigarettes, is described as a mixed race man, aged between 30 and 35, 6ft2 tall and of large build.

He had short dark hair and was wearing a grey short sleeved shirt and dark jeans.

The second suspect, waiting in the car, was black, of large build and similar age. He was wearing a red baseball cap and leather jacket.

Police are appealing for witnesses who have any information about the incident to contact Wandsworth Priority Crime Unit on 020 8247 8871 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
