A MAN in his 60s was savagely attacked and killed in the street in Swiss Cottage this morning.
The victim, whose identity has yet to be formally released, suffered serious head injuries, however police have not confirmed that an axe was used in the assault.
Nor do police believe the victim was decapitated.
A man in his 30s was arrested at the scene in Eton Avenue around 9.45am and remains in police custody.
