POLICE in Harlesden have launched a manhunt after a man was shot and killed by a gang as he sat in a car.

Jahmall Moore died after gunmen opened fire close to Griffin Close, NW10. He was taken to Middlesex Hospital after the attack on Thursday January 13, but never recovered from his injuries.

Police said Mr Moore was sitting in the front passenger seat of a silver Renault Megane parked in Griffin Close just before 23:30, when four young black men approached the car and multiple shots were fired.

After the shooting, the group made their way on foot along Griffin Close towards Park Avenue North, turned left into Park Avenue North and left again into Sherrick Green Road, where they disappeared.

Witnesses said they were making considerable noise and were wearing dark clothing with either hooded tops or 'Russian' style hats. One of the youths was wearing a light grey top.

Detectives have studied CCTV footage taken at the scene and releases descriptions of five black men they want to trace.

All are in their late-teens or mid-20s and were seen walking from Park Avenue North down Griffin Close and then fleeing back towards Park Avenue North after the shooting.

1 - slim build, tallest of the four. He was wearing a three-quarter-length raincoat, leather coat or duffle coat with a wide collar at the rear and a lighter coloured hood over his head, which appears to be from a separate garment. He had on dark trousers or jeans, dark coloured shoes that appear to have light coloured soles (i.e. leather soled shoes). He was seen to walk with both hands behind his back with his left hand holding his right forearm. He was possibly using a telephone at the scene when he first arrived.

2 - stocky and slightly overweight. He was wearing a light coloured hooded tracksuit top or sweatshirt, light coloured jeans/trousers, dark coloured shoes or trainers and seemed to walk on his toes.

3 - slim build. He was wearing a thigh length coat with a hood or protruding collar. The hood was over his head from a separate garment underneath his coat. He was wearing medium/dark trousers or jeans, dark coloured shoes with lighter coloured soles (Shoes similar to 'Male 1'). He seemed to walk with a swagger to his left.

4 - stocky build and slightly overweight. He appears to be the shortest and appears to be reluctant as he stays back just out of camera shot for a few seconds. He is wearing a light coloured hooded tracksuit top or sweatshirt, light coloured baggy training bottoms, dark coloured shoes or trainers. His hood is up and the peak of a dark coloured baseball cap can be seen protruding. This male appears to walk as if he struts with his feet wide apart.

A police spokesman said: "A fifth black man exits Griffin Close estate and heads towards Park Avenue North, seconds before the four suspects run past him. He must have seen them. We retain an open mind as to what he was doing in the area."

His description is; tall and athletic, aged 25 to 35 years. He was wearing a darkish coloured woollen beanie style hat, waist length bomber jacket (could be leather or nylon), jeans and dark coloured shoes, boots or trainers.
