Three men have been charged with the murder of a former computer student at his old university in east London.
Data inputter Christopher Yates, 30, were kicked to death in the car park of the University of East London after celebrating a friend's birthday last Saturday night.
A mob assaulted him minutes after he safely saw a female friend to her bus in nearby Longbridge Road, Barking. Police described it as an "unprovoked violent attack".
Sajid Zulfiqar, 25, Zarhid Bashir, 23, and Imran Maqsood, 21, all from Ilford in Essex, will appear in custody at Redbridge Magistrates' Courts today.
A total of 12 people have been arrested in connection with the murder. Five have been bailed and three have been released with no further action.
