A 'siege' has ended peacefully more than 32 hours after an armed man clambered onto a Bexley rooftop.
He went up on to the roof of his house in Wansunt Road after the police arrived wanting to speak to him about his non-appearance at Blackfriars Crown Court.
The officers knocked at the door at around 7.30am on Monday and told the woman who answered that they wanted to speak to him.
But while they were waiting the man climbed out of a bedroom window onto the roof with a knife.
He stayed there until 4.05pm yesterday (June 10) when he came down voluntarily.
London Ambulance Service staff checked the man over and he was taken to hospital as a precaution.
advertisementIt is believed he will be arrested shortly.
The Met police has not revealed what charges he was due to face at court.
