Passengers using First Great Western trains will now be able to use Oyster cards at main line stations from September.

First Great Western stations will be introducing the pay-as-you-go system, after the company agreed a deal with Transport for London (TfL).

Boris Johnson, the Mayor of London, today announced the agreement, which will see Oyster readers installed at Hayes and Harlington and West Drayton stations.

Other stations that will accept Oyster cards include Southall, Hanwell, West Ealing, Acton Main Line, South Greenford, Castle Bar Park and Drayton Green.

Mr Johnson, said: "This is excellent news for thousands of First Great Western passengers and takes us a step closer to making Oyster the only ticket you'll need to travel in London.

"TfL is investing £40m in new Oyster equipment."
