The family of a Mayday nurse who died at the hospital after falling ill has today been awarded £385,000 in damages.
Mum-of-two Anne Carol Sosanya was working at the London Road hospital when she was taken ill with an embolism.
But Mayday's staff failed to identify the 28-year-old's condition in time and she died on October 19, 2003, leaving her husband Oladipupo Sosanya, their son Ayodele and disabled daughter Georgina.
Mr Sosanya, from Croydon, launched a lawsuit against the hospital's managers.
Mayday Healthcare NHS Trust admitted liability for Mrs Sosanya's death at an early stage and agreed to pay damages today to settle the claim.
Alexander Hutton apologised for the negligence on behalf of the trust.

He told London's High Court: "The trust is happy that the parties have been able to reach a sensible settlement in this matter.
"The defendants made early admissions of liability and wish to take this opportunity to offer sincere apologies for the errors committed by the defendant's staff, in failing to diagnose Mrs Sosanya's condition."
He added: "Whilst no amount of compensation can bring Mrs Sosanya back, it is hoped that this compensation will allow her children to live the best lives that they can, and we wish them all the best for the future."
