FIREFIGHTERS rescued a dog from a fire at a Chinese restaurant yesterday.
Crews from Deptford, East Greenwich and Greenwich attended the blaze which started in the basement of the restaurant in Deptford High Street, Deptford.
A Staffordshire bull terrier had to be resuscitated after passing out due to smoke inhalation but survived.
One fireman said: "The dog was just overcome by smoke but otherwise he was fine."
Most of the basement was destroyed by fire but the restaurant was unaffected and nobody was inside at the time.
Crews arrived at 5.02pm and the fire was out by 7.15pm (Jan6).
