A British Transport Police inspector from Coulsdon is to face a misconduct panel after admitting he had sex while on duty.

Inspector Masood Khan will face three disciplinary charges under the Police Code of Conduct - two for alleged breaches of general conduct rules and the third for honesty and integrity regulations.

The disciplinary charge follows an investigation by the Independent Police Complaints Commission.

The hearing is due to start on November 28.

Inspector Khan was found not guilty of misconduct in public office at Southwark Crown Court on August 15.

The inspector had denied the charge, saying he thought he would be off duty when he made the arrangement for July 23, 2006.

He said then that he regretted the quickie with a 43-year-old woman he met on the internet singles site uniformdating.com the previous day.

The court heard that after telephoning the woman, Insp Khan arrived at the airport's railway station and stood on the concourse in full uniform.

CCTV cameras showed the couple going to a police room and emerging 20 minutes later.

Mr Khan was suspended two days after the incident and has remained suspended since.
