The world's largest passenger plane will soon become a familiar sight at Heathrow.
The airport has ordered 12 Airbus A380s, dubbed the Super Jumbo.
The plane completed its maiden commercial flight yesterday, flying from Singapore to Sydney in seven hours.
The Singapore Airlines version of the jet has 12 special suites, each with a 35in TV, cupboard, chair, bed and duvet.
Most of the 450 passengers paid thousands of pounds for seats in a charity auction.
Andy Odgers, 39, from Richmond, paid £3,500 for his business class ticket.
He told The Metro: "The seats are amazing. The plane was really quiet on take-off."
