The worse Amy Winehouse felt, the more she drank and the higher her hair became, the former Brit School student says in a new documentary.
Documentary I told you I was trouble is due for release as part of a live performance DVD.
In it, Winehouse says insecurity pushed her in to drugs and alcohol.
She also says she would ask her hair stylist to give her a bigger and bigger beehive haircut whenever she felt down.
"I'm quite an insecure person. I'm very insecure about the way I look. I mean, I'm a musician I'm not a model," Winehouse reportedly says on the DVD.
"And to Tracy Trash, who does my hair, I'd be like; 'bigger! bigger!' - like the more insecure I feel, the bigger my hair has to be."
