No one likes getting a parking ticket, but one woman was so incensed she drove off with a parking attendant on her car bonnet.

Thanaa Hussain, 49, who lives in the exclusive private road Coombe End near Kingston Hill, south-west London, was enraged after receiving a parking ticket from Michelle Walker in July 2005.

Last week, Kingston Crown Court heard how Mrs Hussain drove down the road with Ms Walker on the bonnet, after receiving a penalty notice for parking illegally on a footway by Kingston Vale parade.

Defending Mrs Hussain, David Holborn argued that Ms Walker had thrown herself onto the bonnet in order to stop her from driving away.

But Ms Walker said Mrs Hussain had come towards her shouting before getting into her white Audi and driving into her.

She said: "Mrs Hussain called me a bully. I was walking around the car to explain why she had been issued with the notice when she started to drive forward. I assumed she would stop the car but she didn't.

"She drove off with me on the bonnet for about 20 seconds at 10 to 15 miles per hour. I asked her if she was trying to kill me."

Witness Keith Powell gave evidence in support of Ms Walker's account.

The court heard how when Mrs Hussain stopped the car, the women exchanged details.

Guy Ladenburg, prosecuting, said: "Driving any number of seconds with a parking attendant attached to the bonnet clearly constitutes dangerous driving."

Mrs Hussain was found guilty of dangerous driving and ordered to pay Ms Walker compensation. Judge Charles Tilling also disqualified her from driving for 12 months, gave her eight penalty points and ordered her to pass an extended driving test before she drives again.
