A bottle of washing detergent was used to free a 12-year-old boy trapped in a toddler's swing.
The boy was standing on the nursery swing in a playground in Watford, Herts, on Saturday afternoon when he slipped and became stuck inside it.
The boy was unable to free himself so the alarm was raised with firefighters from Garston fire station.
Firefighters arrived at the playground in the Merident estate about 3pm. By this time the boy was suffering pins and needles and reduced circulation.
After attempts to remove the boy failed they contemplated cutting the swing open.
However, firefighters opted to make use of washing detergent first.
Fairy liquid was poured all over the boy and he was released shortly afterwards.
