FRANTIC text messages between schoolfriends helped convict a 45-year-old man of sexually molesting and raping the teenage daughter of family friends.

A jury at Isleworth Crown Court took just two hours to bring in five guilty verdicts on Dinesh Vadgama, a father-of-two who had claimed, during a week-long trial, that the girl, who is now 15, had seduced him and led him on.

Vadgama, of Heatherford Way in Pinner, north London, was warned to expect a lengthy prison term when he returns to court next month for sentencing.

He had denied indecently assaulting the girl when she was only 13 in 2003 and sexual activity, including oral rape and assault by digital penetration in 2005, and finally vaginal rape later that year.

Prosecutor Constance Briscoe told the jury that the girl's family were visitors the Vadgamas' home and the girl was sometimes left with Vadgama help with his younger children while her parents went out.

The first assault occurred after his children had gone to bed.

Counsel said: "The defendant began kissing the girl using his tongue and touching her breast.

"She tried to avoid him but he followed her from one room to another."

The next time the teenager was left with Vadgama, he pinned her down, removed her clothing and sexually molested her, said Ms Briscoe.

The next evening, when there was a small party at the Vadgamas' home, the girl went upstairs when the children woke up.

As she left them, the defendant came into the bedroom and trapped her, Ms Briscoe said.

He forced her to perform oral sex, after which he pretended nothing had happened.

"She felt sick and went to the bathroom where he followed her and once again molested her," said counsel.

"The victim was too scared to tell her mother what had happened.

"But she sent a text to her friend saying what the defendant had done.

"The friend advised her to tell her mother."

Finally, Vadgama raped her during another family visit.

She again texted a friend, saying: "I'm at his house, he's been kissing me and touching me.

"I don't know what to do.

"Please text back."

Her friend told her to tell her mother call the police and get out of the house.

Early next morning the same friend received another text from the youngster.

It said: "I'm so sorry.

"I said No' but he still had sex with me.

"I promise I said No'."

Another text followed at midday: "Where can I buy some emergency contraception?

"I'm so scared, I just can't tell my Mum, I just can't."

The girl's friends who received several other text messages, advised her to call the police.

But it was not until she got home that she told a friend at school and they saw the school nurse who alerted the authorities.

Vadgama was arrested the same day and declined to answer questions.

His semen was found on the teenager's clothes and the DNA matched.

Vadgama claimed the girl flirted with him, seduced him and led him on.

But they jury did not believe him.

He was remanded in custody.
