Fulham Football Club (FFC) players lost £19,000 worth of personal items after a thief posed as a physiotherapist and entered the team's Motspur Park dressing room.

The club's reserve team was playing against Portsmouth Football Club at a training ground in New Malden where FFC holds training, reserve and ladies' matches.

At 7pm on Tuesday, October 31, a smartly-dressed man approached the stewards outside the home and away team dressing rooms, claiming to be a physiotherapist for the Portsmouth team. It was shortly after the teams kicked off at 7pm, so no one else was inside.

He was let into the dressing rooms where he stole personal items from players worth £19,000, including mobile telephones, tracksuits, cash, jewellery and designer clothing.

After 20 minutes, he left the training ground through the main gate and headed down Motspur Park clutching a large holdall. He was last seen walking towards Motspur Park station.

Portsmouth and ex-Newcastle player Lomana Lua Lua, Serbian international Ognjen Koroman and Fulham player Gabriel Zakuani were all affected.

A spokeswoman for Fulham FC said: "We are offering a reward for any information that helps identify the perpetrator of this incident that leads to a prosecution."

Kingston Police have released a photo of a man they want to speak to. He is described as Asian, between 25 and 30-years-old. He had black hair with blond highlights at the back and was seen carrying a large dark holdall.
