Twenty-two white doves were released into the sky as family and friends paid tribute to London bomb victim, Phil Beer, at his funeral.

Hundreds of people, dressed in bright colours to reflect Phil's bubbly personality, attended the ceremony at Garston Crematorium at 4pm on Thursday.

Hairdresser Phil, 22, of Masefield Avenue, Borehamwood, was travelling to work on the Piccadilly Line from Kings Cross when a suicide terrorist detonated a bomb killing 25 people and injuring many more.

He was just two weeks into his new job at Knightsbridge salon San Rizz and was on the Tube with his best friend Patrick Barnes, also from Borehamwood, who suffered a broken leg, cuts and shattered glass in his eyes, but managed to make it out alive.

His friends and family spent three days on the streets of London, hoping to find out what had happened to him. On Sunday, July 10, they were told that his body had been found.

He was carried into the crematorium yesterday in a pink coffin.

His friend Ricardo said: "Phil was one of the nicest people I've ever met.

"Whenever you were down or needed anything, he would always cheer you up. He was one of those get-up-and-go kind of people. Always partying the nights away and just enjoying life.

"We are all completely and utterly devastated. He will never be forgotten."
