TRAVEL updates as we find out more. Just hit refresh for the latest news.

  • The Tube network remains closed, and is not likely to open before tomorrow, Friday.
  • Police say there is likely to be some disruption to children's journeys home from schools. Schools will be liasing with local education authorities to ensure that children are kept safe until arrangements can be made with their parents to collect them.
  • Police are advising people not to attempt to drive into London unless it is unavoidable. Many roads in the city centre are closed, and the congestion charge has been suspended.
  • Drivers leaving the capital are asked to help those unable to make their way home by offering a lift to friends and colleagues where possible, or by registering with the Transport for London recognised car-sharing scheme, London Liftshare.
  • Motorists are strongly advised to avoid entering the capital.
  • London Bus routes in zone 1 have resumed. However, Aldgate, Moorgate, Kings Cross, Tavistock Square and Edgware Road will not be served.
  • Mainline train services into Euston, King's Cross, Liverpool Street, and St Pancreas are terminating outside the capital, though security services are working to get the stations open again later today so people can get home. The Stansted Express is terminating short of Liverpool Street
  • King's Cross has re-opened for mainline suburban services only.
  • All the major rail London stations are open and running as normal, with the exception of King's Cross.
  • There are currently no inter-city GNER services running from the station, but a limited suburban service is operating between King's Cross and Stevenage. This is likely to continue into Friday.
  • Across the network train services are close to normal, although some stations may be closed at short notice for security reasons.
  • Eurostar is running.
  • The Heathrow Express has started running again, but the Gatwick Express remains closed.
  • Police have evacuated Kings Cross passengers to Camley Street Nature Reserve and have asked for the Reserve to stay open overnight to help stranded passengers and tourists.
  • Roads in and around the centre of London, as well as major routes in and out of the capital have been affected and delays are likely.
  • Docklands Light Railway services have been resumed, though trains are not stopping at Bank, Stratford, or Canning Town.
