Most parents find teenagers difficult to get up in the morning but spare a thought for what happened to one mother when she tried to wake her son for work.
Christopher Wells flew into a rage and pinned his mother to the bed when she tried to rouse the 19-year-old from his slumber.
Wells, of Jacketts Field, Abbots Langley, had been out until 5am that morning and became aggressive when his mother Sandra, attempted to get him up at around 7.40am on Tuesday, February 13.
Hearing the commotion his twin sister Gemma pushed her brother off.
Wells then went for her grabbing her round the head and dragging her out onto the landing.
The girl's head struck a banister and wall, breaking the light switch.
Wells denied two allegations of common assault but was found guilty after a trial.
At Hemel Hempstead Magistrates Court on Friday he was ordered to carry out 80 hours unpaid work while under supervision of probation for a year.
