Activists target pharmaceutical worker

Animal rights activists have targeted the Buckinghamshire home of a professor who works at a pharmaceutical company.

The vandals daubed slogans including murderer' on roads surrounding the house and covered two of his cars in paintstripper. The incident - which took place on March 25 - was also boasted about on a controversial website afterwards.

The professor works for GlaxoSmithKline (GSK). A GSK spokesman, who did not want to be named, said: "We have referred the matter to the police and urge anyone who thinks they might have information to contact the police."

In May last year more than 170,000 threatening letters were sent to out to the pharmaceutical giant's minor shareholders.

No one has been arrested in connection with last month's incident.

Rachel McQuilliam, a spokesman for Thames Valley Police, said: "An investigation into this incident is still ongoing. The force takes such crimes very seriously and will not tolerate any illegal activity no matter what the motive."
