A man is believed to have suffered severe head injuries when he was hit by a car in Burgh Heath last night.
The man, 46, was taken to hospital shortly after midnight following the collision at the Brighton and Reigate Road junction of the A217.
South East Coast Ambulance Service took the man to St George’s Hospital in Tooting for treatment.
The 22-year-old driver of the blue Vauxhall Corsa was not injured.
Road closures were lifted at about 3.45am after emergency crews attended the scene.
