Firefighters in Potters Bar will have buckets and sponges at the ready for the crew’s charity car wash tomorrow (Saturday).
Drivers can pull in to the Mutton Lane station between 10am and 3pm to get a hose down and help raise some cash for The Firefighters’ Charity, which provides help and support for injured firefighters.
The fundraiser takes place up to four times a year, though this summer’s event had to be cancelled because of a hose pipe ban.
Charity representative at Potters Bar Fire Station, Rob Horsfield, has received help from the organisation himself after suffering a severe illness four years ago.
He said: “It always means a lot to be able to raise some money for them. Everyone is looking forward to it and we’re hoping to raise a lot of money.”
