A second fire broke out at the recycling centre in Smugglers Way last night.
Fire crews were called to the Western Riverside Waste Authority centre at around 8:30pm.
Just a few hours before more than 30 firefighters had been tackling a blaze there.
The first blaze damaged machinery in the building, but no one was hurt and the fire was brought under control just after 1pm.
A Battersea firefighter said: “There have been a number of fires there recently.
“I suspect it is to do with a build up of waste materials.”
An investigation into the cause is underway.
