A man escaped serious injury yesterday (August 3) after a crash on a notorious stretch of road.
Parts of the A113 Ongar Road in Abridge were closed for several hours yesterday, after the collision between two vehicles near the junction with Mayhem Road.
An ambulance and rapid response vehicle were sent to the scene at 1.53pm and treated a man in his 40s for minor injuries, although he did not require hospital treatment.
The road was reopened at about 4pm.
In 2010, the A113 was dubbed “the most dangerous in the east of England” by the Road Safety Foundation after a string of serious accidents, and in March people living further along the road in Marden Ash successfully fought for new safety measures to be introduced to combat dangerous driving.
